Description

E/Z-FETPY is an organo-diiron(I) complex with strong cytotoxicity in cancer cell lines. E/Z-FETPY induces ferroptosis in low-differentiated cell lines, such as A2780 cells[1].

In Vitro

E/Z-FETPY (72 h) shows cytotoxic potential that inhibits the growth of HCT 116, MCF7, and A2780 cells with IC50 values 4 μM, 2.1 μM, and 2.5 μM, respectively[1].
E/Z-FETPY (2.5 μM; 24-48 h) shows a time-dependent increase in iron uptake was detected upon incubation of A2780 cells. E/Z-FETPY suppresses hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and peroxynitrite (O═NOO-) along with amplified production of superoxide anion (O2-) and nitric oxide (NO)[1].
FETPY (5 μM) induces significant morphological changes in murine B16-F1 and B16-F10 melanoma cells, leading to senescence and/or trans-differentiation into Schwann-like cells, thus significantly reducing their tumorigenic potential[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

FETPY (4 mg/kg; i.p.; once a day; for 3 weeks) significantly reduces the growth rate and tumor volume in both models[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: 8-12 weeks old C57BL/6 male or female mice injected with B16-F1 or B16-F10 cells[1]
Dosage: 4 mg/kg
Administration: i.p.; once a day; for 3 weeks
Result: Suppressed tumor growth in low- and high-grade syngeneic melanoma models.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
